Premz, known for Mixing Cultures through his love of music is a notoriously recognised British Asian rapper from South East London. He has already impacted over two million plus listeners to his unique journey through music.
Music for Premz started at the very young age of thirteen, being of British Asian descent he embraced not only the Asian culture he grew up with, but the culture he was surrounded by in London, embracing diversity which is where he holds his own USP in the Music Industry.
Recognised as a “Future Sounds” Artist for the BBC Asian Network in 2019 provided Premz a platform to share his unique music and style of rap with a wider audience, as today proves breaking into the rap/UK urban scene is possibly more difficult than ever, unless you become more commercially viable.
But Premz has a different approach, as a genuine individual he chooses to share ‘Real’ through writing and rapping of his own experiences that can be relatable to others, abolishing the typical terminology of a ‘rap artist’
Not only does he openly share with honesty his experiences, he infuses the culture of his roots, the culture he has been surrounded with growing up, infusing this all into his music. Sharing identity, of being proud of your heritage and the cultures you have been bought up amongst, which relate to many.
Today, he is recognised and heard on all leading Media and Music outlets such as the BBC, including having had his own Residency Show on the BBC Asian Network late 2019. Published in leading publications such as GQ and The Guardian, they quoted; “makes music that fuses Bollywood samples with UK hip-hop to create his own take on grime” –The Guardian.
